Dr Nicholas Altuneg

For over two decades, my greatest passion has been helping people of all ages live improved lives through better vision. At Eyes by Design, vision is so much more than being able to see clearly or read small letters from far away; it determines your perceptions and reactions every second of the day.
I founded Eyes By Design Optometry in the Central Coast because I believe no one’s abilities should ever be limited by their vision. With a focus on prevention-first, I allow extra consultation time and utilise the latest technology to diagnose a broad range of conditions and detect them as early as possible.
As a qualified Behavioural Optometrist, I work with common sight issues through to complex cases such as Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, intellectual impairments, partial sight and more to improve overall vision and wellbeing for anyone who walks through our doors.
Great vision is the first step in helping people to reach their full potential and achieve great things — at any age. Along with my wife and business partner Angela, we aim to bring you and your family outstanding eye care at every stage of life – infancy through adulthood. We take the time to truly listen and provide optometry and vision therapy in a caring and professional environment you can trust. Our greatest joy is seeing the positive impact that our service provides in our clients’ lives.

Dr Nick completed a Bachelor of Optometry course at UNSW with honours in 1993 and has also completed the Masters of Optometry courses in Behavioural Optometry, Advanced Contact Lens Studies and Ocular Therapeutics
Angela Altuneg
Founder | Practice Manager
With over 25 years’ experience in the optometry industry, my role as practice manager involves the management of our team, accounts, administration and inventory. I am very fortunate to use my skills at the same time as doing what I love the most – caring and looking after people and their needs.
This also allows Dr Nick to do what he does best – to look after your eyes!
As a local family, my husband, Nicholas, and I started our Central Coast Optometry practice in 1996. I love that we improve our clients vision and feel very satisfied when I see the positive impact to their lives.
After 25 years as optometrists in Kincumber, I stilI get excited seeing the difference we make to people’s lives and I love getting to know our local families and supportive community.

Raymond Lotty
Optical Dispenser
I have over five years experience in the optical industry and I’m glad to be putting my keen eye for detail to good use as the optical dispenser at Eyes by Design. As a part of my role I help our clients select frames and lenses that are appropriate for their needs and style.
There is nothing that brings me more joy than seeing someone’s face light up when they try their new glasses on for the first time.
When I’m not helping people see the world a little brighter and sharper, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and playing video games.
