Helping You Help Your Students See Success
As a teacher, you’re often the first to notice when something’s not quite right. Whether it’s trouble focusing, frequent headaches, or struggles with reading, vision plays a big role in learning.
At Eyes by Design, we’re here to support you with practical resources and advice to help your students thrive in and out of the classroom.
Why Vision Matters in the Classroom
Vision is more than just seeing clearly on the board. In fact:
- 80% of learning is visual
- Children don’t always realise their vision is the problem
- Many visual issues don’t show up in standard school screenings
Common signs a student may be struggling with their vision include:
- Avoiding reading or writing tasks
- Losing their place when reading
- Difficulty concentrating
- Eye rubbing, squinting, or complaints of tired eyes
- Poor handwriting or spacing issues
- Holding the book too close when reading
- Behaviour that looks like inattention or frustration
How We Can Support You
We partner with teachers to identify and support children with vision challenges. Our behavioural optometrist, Dr Nick, goes beyond standard eye tests to assess how a child’s vision functions in real-life learning environments.
We offer:
- Comprehensive visual assessments for school-aged children
- Resources to share with parents
- Friendly, child-focused care that makes kids feel at ease
