VitroCap – A New Solution for Annoying Eye Floaters
If you experience those pesky little specks, strings, or cloudy areas that drift across your field of vision, you know how annoying eye floaters can be. Floaters are caused by tiny clumps or strands within the vitreous gel inside your eyes.
Floaters are most noticeable against bright backgrounds and people with significant floater symptoms are most affected by them in the morning, the evening and while reading.
While generally harmless, chronic floaters can be an ongoing nuisance that blurs vision, affects concentration and impacts quality of life.
The good news is there’s now a new non-surgical, non-invasive treatment option called VitroCap that has been scientifically proven to reduce the severity of eye floaters.
VitroCap is an oral supplement formulated with specific micronutrients that help replenish and protect the vitreous gel.

VitroCap – The First Non-Surgical Treatment for Eye Floaters
For years, those annoying eye floaters that drift across your field of vision had no real treatment option besides learning to ignore them or considering an invasive surgical procedure.
But now there’s finally a solution that doesn’t involve going under the knife.
VitroCap is the first scientifically proven, non-surgical treatment for reducing the severity and disruption caused by persistent eye floaters.
What are the risks involved with Surgery to remove floaters?
Vitrectomy surgery is considered a safe operation with reported success rates of over 90%. The operation involves making a small incision through the retina and using a suction tool to remove the vitreous gel from your eye.
While success rates are considered high, complications can occur and when they do, they can be nasty. Postoperative infection, bleeding, retinal detachment, cataract development and/or changes in eye pressure could potentially cause vision loss.
For this reason, Vitrectomy surgery is usually reserved for the most debilitating cases of floaters, because otherwise, the benefit may not outweigh the risk of the procedure.
What is the evidence that VitroCap works?
Five studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of the Vitrocap formula in reducing floater symptoms.
Kaercher et al (Heidleberg 2013) in an observational study noted that 21 out of 24 patients with vitreous floaters reported improvement of symptoms after 3 months of VitroCap supplementation.
Marchenko et al (Minsk 2015) in a case controlled study of 62 patients with vitreous degeneration found that 65.5% of them reported subjective improvements in symptoms after 3 months of VitroCap supplementation.
Sobol et al (BON 2018) in an observational study of 463 patients with vitreous floaters, 90.6% of them reported subjective improvements in symptoms after 3 months of VitroCap supplementation. Improvement in vision quality appeared greater in younger patients.
Varganova et al (St Petersberg 2019) in a case controlled study of 32 patients with vitreous floaters measured the changes in floaters in treatment and control groups with A and B scan ultrasonography after a 3 month period. A reduction in vitreous opacities and a change in qualitative characteristics was observed in the treatment group. Visual comfort level improvement was reported more than two times in the treatment group, with no changes in the control group.
Ankamah et al (Flies 2021) in a double blind placebo controlled study of 61 patients with vitreous floaters were treated with VitroCap for a 6 month period. The treatment group reported statistically significant decreases in vitreous opacity areas, visual discomfort and a significant improvement in contrast sensitivity compared to the non treatment group.
What’s in VitroCap?
This unique supplement contains five key ingredients that work together in different ways:
- L-lysine inhibits glycation, the process where sugar molecules bind to proteins like collagen and cause stiffening
- Vitamin C and grape seed extract provide powerful antioxidant protection
- Hesperidin from citrus fruit prevents collagen fibres from clumping
- Zinc has anti-glycation and antioxidant properties
How Does It Work?
The vitreous gel is made up mostly of water along with collagen and hyaluronic acid, which give it a gel-like consistency. Over time, the vitreous can degrade and clump due to glycation from excess sugar, oxidative damage, and enzymatic breakdown.
VitroCap’s ingredients have been shown to inhibit glycation and oxidation of collagen fibres while modulating the enzymes that degrade hyaluronic acid and collagen. This helps maintain the gel structure and clarity of the vitreous.
Originally developed and patented in Germany, VitroCap has been used by ophthalmologists in Europe since 2014 to successfully improve floater symptoms for their patients.
Where is VitroCap made?
VitroCap is now being manufactured in Australia by Stiltec using the patented formula developed by eBiga-VISION, the German company that developed this product.
Stiltec commenced manufacture in 2024 at their manufacturing facility located at Eastern Creek, NSW. This manufacturing plant has been operational since 2017 and manufactures other multivitamin therapeutic products in the same facility, such as Macutec, Lacritec, and Multivitamin with vision support.
How often do you need to take VitroCap?
Vitrocap is a medium-sized tablet that should be taken once a day with food for 6 months. Each bottle comes in a bottle of 90, so you will need to purchase two bottles to achieve the treatment outcome.
VitroCap use can be discontinued after 6 months.
Conclusion
If persistent eye floaters are disrupting your vision and affecting your daily activities, then VitroCap could be a safe and cost-effective option to help reduce those annoying spots and strings. This scientifically formulated oral supplement provides a safe way to potentially regain clearer sight.
